Tendinitis Treatment

What is Tendinitis?

Injury or damage to the tendon often related to increased load such as increased frequency or volume of training, increased weight being shifted, changes to footwear or work stations, new sport.  The damage results in degenerative changes and thickening of the tendon due to inflammation and new neo vessel formation.

Common Areas of Tendinitis:

Achilles Tendon

Rotator Cuff tendon

Elbow (medial or lateral epicondylitis or tendinitis otherwise known as tennis elbow or golfers elbow)

Plantar fascia

Hamstring

Treatment Includes:

  • Education about injury and self management
  • Rehabilitation program and modified sports programs
  • Shockwave therapy
  • Hands on therapy to restore normal muscle, joint and neural function
  • Where needed, muscle stimulation via compex.
